HS 1020 Ultrasonic Bolt Stress Detector
The HS 1020 is a portable ultrasonic instrument for measuring axial stress and preload in bolted connections. Direct measurement from the bolt end and comparison with a reference model provide rapid results for installation and in-service inspections.
Overview
The HS 1020 applies the acoustoelastic effect to determine changes in bolt stress from ultrasonic sound-velocity differences. The probe is placed directly on the bolt end, allowing rapid measurement without dismantling the connection.
Its compact integrated hardware is intended for field checks of critical bolted joints in aerospace, civil infrastructure, power generation and petrochemical applications.
